Weekly Update 6/29/20

Welcome to the Weekly Update for my little garden. As the name suggests, I will be giving updates as to how things are going for me, my plants, and whatever projects I happen to be working on.

I suppose we should start with what I’m actually growing right now. That makes just as much sense as anything else, doesn’t it?

Well, we started off by growing some basil from seed:

Which has quickly grown to this point:

Getting Bigger!

There are three different varietals of basil growing in this pot: Genovese (the big, flat-ish leaves), Sweet (the ruffled ones), and Dark Opal (the purple ones)

We’re also growing some tomatoes (Mr. Stripey and Cherokee Purple varietals), Bell Peppers, Marketmore 76 cucumbers, Black Beauty Heirloom Zucchini, and some watermelons!

The zucchini plant seems to be struggling a little bit, I think it’s a potassium deficiency. At least, what I’ve been able to find online suggests that. It’s either a deficiency, or it has what’s called curly top virus – in which case this plant is gonna have to come out. It’s just a waiting game to see if the plant recovers, unfortunately.

Also, not pictured are some rosemary and dill sprouts that are just peaking their heads above the mulch line.
